Sulfint HP

Redox solution

Sulfint HP is a redox process developed for high pressure natural applications. Its specific solid sulfur removal technology overcomes the foaming/plugging problems experienced with other types of redox processes.

The H2S containing gas is contacted with the aqueous, iron based, catalytic redox solution. The redox solution absorbs H2S, converts it into solid elemental Sulfur and is then regenerated by contact with air. Sulfint HP operates at ambient temperature and can remove H2S down to very low levels (1 ppm vol or below if needed).

In Sulfint HP the redox solution is filtered under high pressure to remove the Sulfur just after having been in contact with the gas.

Industrial Experience

Sulfint HP has been demonstrated on an industrial pilot plant operated with natural gas under 80 bar, at a GAZ DE FRANCE underground storage facility. Economics show that this process allows 30 – 50% cost reductions compared with conventional solutions, for the selective removal and conversion of H2S from gases containing between 10 and 1000 ppm of H2S.
