TOTAL’s Amine based Processes
In the frame of cooperation between TOTAL, IFP and PROSERNAT, PROSERNAT is today the licensor of the amine technology portfolio historically developed by SNEA(P), then ELF, now owned by TOTAL.
AdvAmine™ processes have been developed for more than 50 years for all types of natural gas sweetening applications
- HiLoadDEA for complete CO2/H2S removal,
- MDEAmax for selective H2S removal,
- energizedMDEA for controlled/complete CO2/H2S removal.

All these processes are based on widely available open market chemicals. They have benefited from TOTAL considerable operating experience and also today from on going R&D performed in collaboration between TOTAL and PROSERNAT’s mother company IFP.
Accumulated industrial experience and continuous on going R&D have made AdvAmine™ a versatile gas sweetening technology portfolio meeting the industrial needs for:
- All types of natural gas sweetening applications.
- Reduced cost through optimal solvent use and improved process configurations (high Loading concept).
- Tight treated gas specifications on H2S, CO2, but also COS.
- Ease of operation (avoiding corrosion/foaming)
Industrial Experience
TOTAL amine units are actually developed by an operator for those who operate! With more than 120 industrial units built, among which one third are being operated by Total itself, it is 50 years of operating experience which are now being offered by Prosernat to its customers.
For all its proprietary technologies, PROSERNAT offers all type services from basic design up to technologies licensing packages or complete technology + modular equipment packages.
